SK E&C has world-class technology, particularly for underground storage, and has introduced state-of-the-art measurement systems that it uses to achieve perfection in design, construction and maintenance in all areas of civil engineering, such as SOC projects, high-speed rail and subway construction, mixed-use complexes, reclamation and port construction.

SK E&C has key design capabilities based on its experience in constructing underground petroleum storage cavern and is now expanding into underground food storage cavern and underground compressed air energy storage cavern. After entering into a technical license agreement with France’s Geostock and SN Techigaz, we are actively participating in the world’s first underground LNG storage cavern project in Korea.

On the other hand, the company has a top-tier track record in high-speed railroad sectors which are at the center of green logistics revolution. Specifically, SK E&C has successfully implemented 8 projects on the Gyeongbu High-Speed Railroad Construction Project, the greatest national infrastructure project since the Gyeongbu Expressway. In addition, the company has made a great contribution to enhancing national competitiveness by taking part in the constructions of Honam and Susoe-Pyoungtaek high-speed railways, respectively.

Our patented ‘Orchestra Blasting Method’ is capable of efficient large-scale tunneling while minimizing noise and vibration. This is exemplary of our continued efforts to prevent environmental damage caused by construction. When it comes to bridges, we were the first in Korea to introduce the extra-dosed bridge that can take advantage of the structural advantages of PCS girders and cable stays, thereby greatly contributing to the improvement of design technology. Meanwhile, SK E&C has successfully completed three projects in Phase 1 of the Gyeongbu High-Speed Railroad Construction Project, the greatest national infrastructure project since the Gyeongbu Expressway, and won the contract for Phase 2 (Daegu~Busan), thereby greatly contributing to enhancing national competitiveness.
